2DShooter Tutorial
2D Shooter Final Submission
In truth, there isn't much changes to the actual game as what I wanted to do--gameplay wise, didn't work a lot of the time. So instead, I dedicated some time to learning C# coding and made some minor changes to scripts and a few of my own. It's not anything grand admittedly but felt good! Please download the PC builds to see how the actual game turned out.
The game is in an endless loop now. For testing purposes, the game is somewhat unfair to show that enemy spawn rates will increase as time goes on. This was a script change I added (Folder is a mess. Admittedly, I was pinned for time). In addition to enemy spawn rates increasing over time, player fire rate will also increase overtime to a maximum set value. Since I didn't make an options menu, it's not going to be evident right away.
I would've kept invincibility on to show this but I challenge you to play the game (One of the PC builds since the WebGL didn't size up correctly) and see first hand the enemies spawn rate increase. In addition, you will see your fire rate increase as well as enemy count increases. In the end, my modifications weren't to make a complete game. It was to test the waters with C# and scripting in unity as I am highly interested in scripting as a whole and more so, scripting for video games. I admit, I thought I knew somethings but it was a rather difficult task and the small I learnt, I feel very happy about it. Hoping for more Scripting videos in the class and supplemental scripting videos like the Game Makers Toolkit that are in the course.
